SiS Youth Home Bärby, located outside Uppsala, receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse.

Job Description

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, providing the foundation for daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines, and documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help ensure that our youth/clients receive the safety and security they need to break ingrained behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You should also have:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or HVB operations.
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish in speech and writing
